Aaron Beach

Beach, Co-Founder and Head of Operations, brings his passion, experience, and expertise in human resources and operations. Beach’s strengths include creating native work cultures specifically centered on the people who lead to its success, as well as fostering inspiring and empowering work environments for business growth. His operational foundation provides high level problem solving skills that solve opportunities both in the immediate and for the future.  Beach is also Co-Founder and COO of Me Biosciences, Inc and iSplack, a precision nutrition and human performance company.

Beach served for over 20 years in the hospitality and restaurant industry where he ran multimillion-dollar restaurant locations, served as a mentor, and oversaw a staff of 200 and 14 executives. He received multiple awards for his excellence in staff care and customer service. Beach’s ability to continually deliver a profitable business while simultaneously growing the work culture to deliver a productive and efficient staff, have led him to become a trusted resource for work culture development. Beach specializes in enabling employees to become integral members of a team while fostering their individual passions and talents.

Emily Bradbury

Bradbury, General Manager, brings her organizational skills and event experience into her work here at Black Lab. Her passion is about bringing our community together through impactful events, inspiring spaces, and engaging content. She brings 15+ years of experience in eCommerce, event management, and operations management to the team.

After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in communications, Bradbury found herself in the live entertainment space with an internship at a concert venue and radio station in Phoenix, AZ. In 2004 she relocated to Denver and began a 12-year run with, a little-known disruptor in the ticket reselling spaced called, StubHub. She was promoted through the ranks, relocated to Los Angeles. During her time there she was responsible for building new markets, implementing new programs, leading large teams, and overseeing event operations for some of North America’s premier events including The Super Bowl, Masters, Final Four, NBA Finals, NHL Stanley Cup Finals, World Series, Coachella, The U.S. Open, 2010, 2016 Olympic Games to name a few.


Dominic Bönisch

Bönisch, Head of Black Lab Germany, is on a mission to make entrepreneurs last longer in business and life: Unleashing Greatness. He is a hands-on entrepreneur with strong abilities to make things happen, especially building online business and optimizing corporate processes to squeeze out more efficiency and productivity.

Bönisch is Partner & CPO at Quest Vitality, where they facilitate individual and collective peak performances to prepare you for the summits of everyday life and beyond. Previously, he was a Founder and Managing Director of Joblocal GmbH, a startup that disrupted local job markets and changed how we work (letting machines work for us). joblocal was acquired by Funke Mediengruppe.


Trent Bush

Bush, Head of Design, is a Boulder native with deep roots in the outdoor industry. He founded the groundbreaking snowboarding brand Twist in high school, influencing the sport with its unique blend of skate culture and performance. His career evolved through global collaborations with top outdoor and action sports brands, where he developed a keen eye for integrating technology with user-centric design.

Before joining Black Lab X, he founded ARTILECT, a brand renowned for its innovative approach to technical apparel, focusing on enhancing user experiences through advanced designs. At Black Lab X, Bush leads the company’s design strategy across human, technology, and systems design. His leadership aims to forge seamless integration between these domains, pushing the boundaries of conventional design and positioning Black Lab X at the forefront of innovative solutions in the HumanTech industry. Bush’s extensive experience and visionary approach drive his mission to revolutionize how we interact with technology and the environment.


Desmond Croan

Croan, Head of Marketing, is a visionary digital marketer, storyteller and strategist. A Stanford alum, Croan has fueled the growth of global brands, Silicon Valley startups, and Fortune 500 companies through innovative digital marketing and storytelling. At desmond garcia, his international digital marketing agency, he empowered diverse clients from superstars to tech giants, enhancing their creative, strategic and international growth—expanding the agency from San Francisco to Miami, Medellin and São Paulo.

Croan’s work, which includes igniting notable startups like DocuSign, TRX Training, and NBCUniversal Digital Studios to become prominent global brands, focuses on integrating cutting-edge digital strategies with compelling brand narratives that build loyalty and compel audiences to take action. Croan is passionate about exploring new markets and the transformative power of technology to bring about advancement for human beings, as illustrated through his non-profit, Sparrow, which served as the world's first digital food bank during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In his "downtime," he enjoys the simple things in life: travel, new cultural experiences, close friends, CrossFit, pushing his mother towards her third Grammy nomination, and spending time with his partner, Alejandra and their pets.


Michael Hart

Hart, Head of Technology, is a seasoned technical executive adept at building products, platforms, teams, and groundbreaking customer experiences at both innovative startups and more established enterprises. Prior to Black Lab X, Hart was Chief Product and Technology Officer at Kite, reimagining commerce - how products are made, moved, marketed, stored, shipped and sold at scale, VP of Product for Fletch, AI enabled cybersecurity, and Director of Product Management and Engineering for Alexa Experiences.

Hart built his experience as Director of Engineering at Netflix where he conceived of and implemented the Netflix API, which enabled the rapid distribution of Netflix-branded applications across game consoles, and connected TV and mobile devices. Prior to Netflix, Hart was a Product Unit Manager with Microsoft and an Architect with Accenture. Throughout his career, Hart has focused on driving rapid business innovation by adopting emerging technologies delivered by productivity-enhancing platforms.


Chris Ishii

Ishii, Head of Black Lab Capital, is an inventive senior executive with 15+ years experience, who specializes in innovative solutions across business operations. Ishii brings deep experience in investment, organizational formation, and leadership. Ishii is a former multi-decade Managing Director at two Wall Street Firms, Principal of his own firm, and Media entrepreneur. He serves as a mentor and advisor to the entrepreneurial community and volunteers on two Boards serving the Wealth Management and CPG industries, respectively.

Ishii embodies the synergy of entrepreneurship, investment prowess, leadership expertise, technology acumen, and media insight. His journey, fueled by financial wisdom and inspirational style, led to a career of leadership success. As an investor, his decisions reflect a comprehensive understanding of trends and business. His perspective distinguishes his standing. A visionary adept at merging his skills and learnings, he is known for his thought leadership on interconnectedness. With an ability to distill what is complex into accessible insights, he enriches conversations and inspires innovation. His legacy as a trailblazer resonates through his ventures, investments, and media engagements, underscoring his role as a dynamic bridge between the worlds of technology, finance, and media.


Rolf L. Jensen

SGM (R) Jensen, Program Manager, retired as a Sergeant Major from the U.S. Army in 2020 after a distinguished 34-year career, primarily spent in Special Operations. His military journey commenced in the 3rd Bn, 75th Ranger Regiment and expanded over three decades with the U.S. Army Special Forces. Jensen's service took him across multiple continents, where he led operations in diverse environments from the African jungles to Eastern European terrains. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Jensen's expertise was pivotal during six combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he directed multinational task forces and strengthened coalition tactics. His final years in service were focused on countering Russian aggression in Eastern Europe, leading the Special Operations Command-Forward: Eastern Europe.

An innovator in military tactics, Jensen established the Winter Warfare Detachment, pioneering new strategies for operations in extreme cold climates of Norway, Sweden, and Finland. His leadership in developing cold-weather combat techniques marked him as a leading expert in the field. At Black Lab, Jensen continues to impact the military community by integrating strategy and tactical know-how with leading edge technologies for training and knowledge transfer. His career not only reflects his tactical prowess but also his dedication to mentoring the next generation of military leaders.


Jean-Paul O’Brien

O’Brien, Founder and CEO, is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and community builder. O'Brien is on a mission to inspire, activate, and hyper-enable Thinker Doers (scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, elite athletes, and creatives) to propel humanity forward. Black Lab builds and invests in HumanTech ventures and human potential nodes, with themes centered around Longevity, Consciousness, Community, and Environment.

O'Brien is also Founder and CEO of Me Biosciences, Inc., a precision nutrition and human performance company, is President of Flywheel Project, a 501(c)3 education non-profit, is a Lead Mentor with Techstars, earned his B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University, where he played D1 lacrosse and football, and on the weekends, he can be found playing lacrosse, skiing, and trail-running the foothills of Colorado.


Gunther Weil, Ph.D.

Weil, Advisor, is the Co-Founder & CEO of Value Mentors - an internationally recognized consultant, executive coach, and educator who advises leaders and their organizations on values based leadership, innovation, team building, strategic planning, and executive wellness. His clients have included numerous public and private sectors institutions in such as MIT Media Lab, CAA, Chase Manhattan Bank, Credit Suisse, AT&T, McCann Erickson, the FAA, the Peace Corps and many others.

Weil previously served as the senior VP of Intermedia Systems Corporation; a publicly held media production and consulting firm. He received his doctorate from Harvard University in 1965, was a Fulbright Scholar in Europe and was recruited by Abraham Maslow to teach at Brandeis University. He is a 50-year practitioner of Tai Chi and a recognized master teacher of Qigong - the oriental art of internal energy cultivation. Weil lives in the mountain community of Sugarloaf in Boulder, CO.


Mark Williams

Williams, Program Director, is an accomplished leader specializing in AI, machine learning, and human performance. Educated at The College of William and Mary, Williams’ career has spanned military, nonprofit, startups, and corporate sectors, focusing on complex projects and entrepreneurship. Williams fosters a culture of innovation to unlock human potential through technology. His role involves integrating advanced AI, LLMs, and machine learning strategies to optimize performance in the HumanTech industry.

Williams is also Executive Director at The Wisdom Dojo, where he developed meditation practices for psychedelic-assisted therapy. Perviously, he held leadership positions in operations and business development at companies like Veteran's PATH and eino. His early career was distinguished by over two decades as a pilot in the United States Air Force, where he gained extensive operations and intelligence experience. Williams’ unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills drive Black Lab X’s mission to enhance human performance through cutting-edge technology.
